Fees and payment

Where installments are offered, payment is due as stated on the payment schedule.
 

Cancellations

  • To cancel a course booking, you must inform us, either by:
    • contacting the Admissions team on +44(0)1223 746262
    • emailing ice.admissions@ice.cam.ac.uk
    • writing to us at: The Admissions team, Institute of Continuing Education, University of Cambridge, Madingley Hall, Madingley, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, CB23 8QA.
  • You may use the model cancellation form, although it is not obligatory. Once completed, submit it electronically to the email address above or post it to the postal address above marked for Refund and Cancellation.
  • If you do not use the model cancellation form you must clearly state your intention to cancel the course. To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning exercising the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.
     

Refunds

  • Cancellations received within the 14-day standard cancellation period (the ‘cooling off period’) and 14 or more days before the start date of the course will be entitled to a full refund.
  • After this window, any cancellation made less than two weeks before the start of each teaching unit, will be liable for fees as outlined below:
    • A cancellation made less than two weeks ahead of the first unit of teaching: Liable for one third of a year’s fees, with the cost of units undertaken retained by ICE.
    • A cancellation made less than two weeks ahead of the second unit of teaching: Liable for two thirds of a year’s fees, with the cost of units undertaken retained by ICE.
    • A cancellation made less than two weeks ahead of the third unit of teaching – Liable for full fee for the year.
  • Payments for any remaining course fees will be taken according to the agreed instalment schedule.
  • Where a student wishes to cancel a place on a course and transfer to another, the standard refund policy will normally apply and the fees for the new course must be paid in full.
  • In the case of exceptional circumstances, a student can appeal for a refund for part of the course fees by sending details and documentary evidence to support their case to the appropriate programme administrator for their course.

For the full-time Certificate of Higher Education in Pre-Medical Studies, applicable from Academic year 2024/25:

  •  Cancellations received within the 14-day standard cancellation period (the ‘cooling off period’) and 14 or more days before the start date of the course will be entitled to a full refund.
  • After this window, any cancellation made less than two weeks before the start of each term, will be liable for fees as outlined below:
    • A cancellation made less than two weeks ahead of the first term: Liable for one half of a year’s fees.
    • A cancellation made less than two weeks ahead of the second term: Liable for full fees for the year.
  • Payments for any remaining course fees will be taken according to the agreed instalment schedule. Normally, 50% before course commences and 50% two weeks before the start of the second term.
  • Where a student wishes to cancel a place on a course and transfer to another, the standard refund policy will normally apply and the fees for the new course must be paid in full.
  • In the case of exceptional circumstances, a student can appeal for a refund for part of the course fees by sending details and documentary evidence to support their case to the appropriate programme administrator for their course.

For apprenticeships top-up fees, any cancellation made less than two weeks before the start of each residential, the employer will be liable for fees as outlined below: 

  • A cancellation made less than two weeks ahead of the first residential: Liable for one third of a year's top-up fees.
  • A cancellation made less than two weeks ahead of the second residential: Liable for two thirds of a year's top-up fees. 
  • A cancellation made less than two weeks ahead of the third residential: Liable for full fee for the year top-up fee.
